Bug Out Release

It's up.

Bug Out is an arcade racer with a PS1 look. You win one race in your Bug, and a voice called Eyes calls you from a number you don't know. He has a delivery. The Hempers used to drive for him, and now they rob his runs, so the job is getting the order over the border with them ramming you the whole way.

There's an open world to learn the roads in first: 6 areas, a race loop in each, a sprint along every road both ways, and barns to smash. Then the run. Every run is a new map stitched from 13 hand-made areas, an easy road and a hard road at every fork, and the hard ones have lava, ice, a sandstorm and cops. Races still pay while you're on the run. The heat keeps rising while you race, and if they find you, you drive off the course and keep what you grabbed.

Ten runs to the end of the story. Something is hidden on every run map.

Up to 4 of you can play on one PC, split-screen. Race each other, or go on the run together: one of you carries the order and the rest race for cash for the next run.

I use AI tools in making my games. That's on the page too, because you should know it before you decide rather than after.

Pay what you want, or nothing. It's the whole game, not a demo, and nothing in it is behind money.

Windows only, and no online play - the multiplayer is one PC. If something breaks, tell me what happened.

If you get to the end, tell me what you think happened to Eyes.
